October 22, 2005 - Granite Peak Resort's improvements for the 2005-06 ski season might be aimed at a young audience, but the investment is hardly child's play. Patrons dissatisfied over ski-lift rescue
December 02, 2003 - Wausau Daily Herald, WI - RIB MOUNTAIN - Some skiers still are miffed at the response of Granite Peak Ski Area officials to a lift malfunction that stranded at least 100 people in their seats for as long as three hours Friday afternoon. At least one person was injured in the evacuation, though reports differ on whether the person was a skier or an employee.  read more

November 15, 2003 - Marshfield News Herald, WI - RIB MOUNTAIN - For the first time, ski fans will take to the slopes of Granite Peak Ski Area near Wausau more than a week before Thanksgiving. Granite Peak usually doesn't open until the end of November, but because of a stretch of cold weather and round-the-clock snow-making, the hill will be open for business today and Sunday.  read more

November 08, 2003 - Stevens Point Journal, WI - RIB MOUNTAIN - The snow guns are going strong up at Granite Peak Ski Area, and crews hope to have the hill ready for skiers by Nov. 15. The ski area began making snow at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday, and conditions likely will be dry enough and cold enough to continue snow-making on the hill 24 hours a day at least until the weekend.  read more

Expanded Granite Peak poised for more growth
September 13, 2003 - Wausau Daily Herald, WI - RIB MOUNTAIN - The final touches are almost complete on a two-year expansion at Wisconsin's largest ski hill. When Granite Peak Ski Area opens for its fourth season in November, snow sport enthusiasts for the first time will be able to sip a mug of cappuccino in front of a stone fireplace, try out skis at the Salomon Ski Demo Center or take a ride on a new high-speed chairlift that will take skiers to the top of the hill in about three minutes or less.  read more
