Weather has dampened ski area business
February 05, 2004 - Barre Montpelier Times Argus, VT - Weather has played havoc with the fortunes of the state's ski resorts this season, knocking business down 15 to 20 percent, according to the Vermont Ski Areas Association. From Smuggler's Notch in the north to Ascutney Mountain Resort in the south, fewer skiers have ventured to the state's resorts so far this season. A good part of the blame is placed squarely on rain during Christmas week, followed by the sixth-coldest January on record.  read more
