February 26, 2008 - Even by Alta's standards, this is a snowy year. And that's good for skiing in Utah. Seasonal snowfall at Alta topped 500 inches on Sunday, only the fourth time in the 28 years since the Little Cottonwood Canyon resort started tracking the figure.

January 08, 2008 - LAKE LOUISE, Alta. - A 19-year-old man from Quebec has been killed in an avalanche at Lake Louise, a mountain resort town in the Alberta Rockies. RCMP say they were advised by Parks Canada of the avalanche which occurred just before 3 p.m. on Mount St. Piran.
