February 25, 2004 - KTNV, NV - The U.S. Forest Service is issuing an extreme avalanche warning today for the mountains west of Las Vegas. Recent snows have left the Spring Mountains with a pretty coating of white. But officials say snow on steep hillsides in Kyle and Lee Canyons -- and the backcountry areas around Mount Charleston -- is dangerously unstable.  read more

Man sues ski area over tube crash
February 05, 2004 - Allentown Morning Call, PA - A Doylestown man is suing an Upper Salford Township ski resort two years after he allegedly flew out of control on a snow-tubing chute and smashed his face into a metal ladder. The lawsuit was filed Monday by James and Susan Brant of Short Road, Doylestown, against Spring Mountain Ski Area, near the village of Spring Mount in Montgomery County.  read more
