February 22, 2004 - Penn Live, PA - MERTZTOWN, Pa. (AP) ? Bear Creek Ski
& Recreation Area as it appears today will be gone in less than a
year. No more will skiers cram into the small lodge and quaint taproom
on busy weekends. Gone, too, will be the undersized picnic area, ski
school and outdated hotel, which houses administrative offices. Every
building at the Longswamp Township site, with the exception of the
ski-rental facility, will be demolished.
