Small Oregon ski resorts thriving
February 03, 2004 - Longview Daily News, WA - TOLLGATE, Ore. (AP) -- Last year, there was so little snow in Eastern Oregon that the Spout Springs ski area didn't even bother to open. This year, business at the small ski area near Pendleton has been booming, owner John Murray said, and between 10,000 and 12,000 people are expected to ski at the resort this winter -- more than in 2002, the last time the resort was open for business.  read more
