January 11, 2009 - HOODOO The annual Tele-Fest uses telemark skiing roots to bring fresh, friendly competition to a group that is not necessarily known for racing.The 2009 Tele-Fest, which continues through today at Hoodoo Mountain Resort, included a whole slew of events on Saturday, from beginner lessons to a big-air contest, and from professional lessons to an uphill/downhill race called Sirdal Slogg.  read more

Strong headwinds for area ski resorts; A bout of harsh weather combined with a slow economy make for dismal period
January 08, 2009 - Natures fury added up to a dismal holiday period for Central Oregons top two ski areas, which reported a heavy drop in visitors for whats considered their busiest time of year.Mt. Bachelor and Hoodoo ski areas, already dealing with a late start to the season, were beset over the holidays with weather conditions ranging from poor visibility to ice and howling wind.  read more

December 20, 2008 - With the recent heavy snowfall, most ski resorts in Oregon are either already open or expecting to open by this weekend.Hoodoo Mountain Resort near Sisters will open on Saturday, according to Matthew McFarland, general manager of the resort. Hoodoo was hoping to open today, but scouring caused by high winds left some areas on the mountain bare on Thursday despite new snow.  read more

December 18, 2008 - Willamette Pass Resort opens for the ski season Friday with two lifts open. Elsewhere in the region, Mount Bachelor is operating two lifts and Hoodoo Ski Area hopes to open Friday or Saturday.  read more

Hoodoo prays for more snow
December 15, 2007 - At the mid-valleys nearest ski and snowboard destination, Hoodoo Mountain Resort, the staff is praying for snow. Hoodoo experienced a record number of patrons last year, with about 90,000 visitors during its 110 open days. But this year the resort has yet to officially open for the season.  read more

Bachelor, other resorts to open this weekend
November 14, 2006 - Central Oregon ski resorts hope recent wet weather will continue to dump snow on their slopes as they prepare to open later this week and next. Timberline and Mt. Bachelor expect to open for skiing and snowboarding Thursday and Friday, respectively, with Hoodoo opening the following weekend.  read more
