Cooper Spur Mountain Resort: a winter delight
February 15, 2004 - Oregonian, OR - Mount Hood's north side can have a slightly different weather pattern than other parts of the mountain. As storms sweep in from the southwest, the mountain's bulk disrupts the prevailing flow of clouds sufficiently to leave a blue sky zone on the northeast slope. January 20, 2004 - GreenBiz.com - MT. HOOD, Ore., Jan. 20, 2004 - In partnership with Portland General Electric and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort will purchase enough clean, renewable wind energy to run a major chairlift at Meadows and the only chairlift at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort. By purchasing 334 of PGE?s Clean Wind Green Tags supplied by the BEF, Meadows will support generation of 334,000 kilowatt-hours of wind energy.  read more

Expansion fight marshals skiers
November 23, 2003 - Oregonian, OR - Last winter, when residents and environmental activists got wind of major expansion plans for the quaint Cooper Spur Mountain Resort near Parkdale, tempers in the Hood River Valley boiled hot enough to melt a glacier. Friends of Mount Hood cried foul. The Portland chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club declared such development would ruin the area's historic and remote atmosphere.
