January 28, 2007 - The Wall came crumblin', tumblin' down Saturday afternoon at Holiday Valley ski resort in Ellicottville. An avalanche of snow slid an estimated 200 feet down the resort's steepest slope, surprising several skiers hovering above in a chairlift.

January 28, 2007 - Skiers riding on the Snow Pine Chair lift Saturday watched as a large portion of snow on the slope called "The Wall" slid close to 100 feet. The trail was not open. No one was hurt.

January 17, 2005 - LAKE PLACID - For a time, Travis Mayer was called the best moguls skier ever to come out of Holiday Valley Ski Resort. That ended when people referred to him as a silver medalist from the 2002 Winter Olympics. On Saturday, he skied to a peak he never imagined.
