February 08, 2007 - As much as I have enjoyed skiing at Gore Mountain in North Creek (Warren County), one thing bothered me. Gore had a great gondola, leading straight up from the base area to a wide variety of terrain from other lifts, but there was no easy way to ski directly down from it.

October 17, 2004 - Albany Times Union, NY - ALBANY -- Gore Mountain's longtime
vendor is blasting New York for forfeiting millions of dollars in a
major concessions bid for the state's downhill skiing and Olympic
facilities. "I've been in this business 18 years and this is the
most bewildering decision I've seen," said Joseph Armstrong,
president of Boston Culinary Group, the losing bidder. His company, he
said, sued after the state refused its $2.5 million offer in favor of
Centerplate, whose $850,000 bid failed to meet even the state's minimum
price of $1 million in cash.

Comptroller
says ski center improvements could help tourism
March 12, 2004 - Boston.com, MA - NORTH CREEK, N.Y. -- The
state's comptroller is endorsing a proposal to provide skier access
between Gore Mountain and the North Creek Ski Bowl, create 2,500 new
lodging beds and establish a passenger rail link between North Creek and
Saratoga Springs.

is unable to keep a secret
January 22, 2004 - Newark Star Ledger, NJ - It's pretty hard to reach the
age of 40 and be considered an unknown, but Gore Mountain Resort does
not mind fitting into that category. Located in North Creek, N.Y., in
the Adirondack Mountains, Gore Mountain is celebrating its 40th
anniversary this weekend. The resort opened on Jan. 25, 1964, with a
J-Bar, a T-Bar and a double chair, which was the longest lift in the
East at the time. There were approximately nine trails.
