Snow gives Ski Apache hopes it can open soon
November 23, 2007 - Ski Apache officials hope this week's colder weather and some snow will help them open soon for the winter season. "We got about 3 inches (Thursday), and we'll be making snow tonight," said Justin Rowland, Ski Apache's director of operations.  read more

Ski Valley Openings
November 22, 2004 - KASA, NM - A lot of skiers will be able to spend Thanksgiving on the slopes this year. Taos ski valley is set to open on Thanksgiving day. And as we showed you yesterday Sipapu opened for weekend skiing and will open daily starting December ninth. Red River will open next week along with Ski Apache in Ruidoso.  read more

Ski Apache slopes ready for skiers
November 26, 2003 - El Paso Times, TX - Ski Apache will open for its 43rd season Thanksgiving Day -- on time despite a lack of natural snowfall this season. "We had a whopping inch and a half (of snowfall) on October 25," said Riker Davis, marketing manager for the Mescalero Apache ski resort. "This is my 27th season, and I do not ever remember a ski season when Ski Apache opened on Thanksgiving Day without any help from natural snow." The resort is about 130 miles north of El Paso, just outside Ruidoso.  read more
