Ski Valley Openings
November 22, 2004 - KASA, NM - A lot of skiers will be able to spend Thanksgiving on the slopes this year. Taos ski valley is set to open on Thanksgiving day. And as we showed you yesterday Sipapu opened for weekend skiing and will open daily starting December ninth. Red River will open next week along with Ski Apache in Ruidoso.  read more

Ski areas report solid holiday biz
December 05, 2003 - Sangre de Cristo Chronicle, NM - One good early-season snowfall and a few cold days for snowmaking meant local ski area operators had a solid opening for the Thanksgiving holiday. Red River Ski Area owner Drew Judycki said opening week ?went pretty well. We were happy with it. We did just a little bit better than last year and last year was pretty good so we were happy.? Though warm temperatures hampered snowmaking somewhat, Judycki said, ?The early snow we got held up real well. The skiing was excellent all weekend.?  read more
