Unless you take perverse pleasure in paying exorbitant prices for lift
tickets, freezing on long lines before each ride up the mountain, and
fighting rude crowds in an overheated lodge afterwards, you should ski
at the Balsams Wilderness area in northern New Hampshire. This glorious
throwback to another era is only for skiers who enjoy free lift tickets
