New lift at Bridger Bowl takes shape
September 20, 2008 - In the winter of 1885, four German coal miners in the Bridger Canyon were killed in an avalanche when snow overcame their log cabin as they slept. Historians know the avalanche occurred between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. because that was the time the miners watches stopped.  read more

February 28, 2004 - The Bozeman Daily Chronicle, MT - Two construction workers were burned Friday morning when propane exploded inside the new base lodge at Bridger Bowl ski area. The men, both plumbers, were working inside the new lodge at about 11 a.m., said Doug Wales, Bridger's marketing director.  read more

Elliott named Bridger Bowl general manager
February 11, 2004 - The Bozeman Daily Chronicle, MT - Randy Elliott will take over as general manager of Bridger Bowl ski area when the current general manager, Terry Abelin, retires in June. Elliott, 49, has worked at Bridger Bowl since 1977 and has spent the past 12 years as mountain manager. In that position he has been responsible for all departments on the mountain, including ski patrol, lifts and vehicle maintenance.  read more

Bridger skiers snorkel through powder
January 01, 2004 - Billings Gazette, MT - Snow so deep that when you ski or board though it you can't breathe except by using a snorkel. That's what Bridger Bowl, northeast of Bozeman, has been experiencing. Since Christmas Day, Bridger has recorded more than 100 inches of snow - that's more than 8 feet, for those who don't want to do the math.  read more
