Cypress Mountain to create bike park
August 27, 2004 - Whistler Question, Canada - Whistler Bike Park official welcomes move to ?expand the industry? It appears the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will have competition from Cypress Mountain next summer. Officials at the West Vancouver ski hill recently announced plans to develop a lift-assisted mountain bike park on the north face of Black Mountain, disrupting Whistler?s long-time bike park monopoly.  read more

Maine ski area bans tobacco
August 27, 2004 - Portland Maine Press Herald, ME - One Maine ski area has banned tobacco use, but other resorts aren't necessarily ready to follow its lead. The Black Mountain of Maine announced this week that it will no longer allow its customers or employees to use cigarettes, cigars, pipes or chewing tobacco anywhere on its premises, including the mountain, lifts and parking lot. The Rumford resort is believed to be the first in the nation to take such a step.  read more
