Ridge Ski and Snowboard Swap This Weekend
October 30, 2004 - Town Times, CT - The Powder Ridge Ski Patrol will hold its
annual snowboard and ski sale and swap this weekend. On Saturday,
October 30, consignments will be accepted from 9AM-noon, and the
sale/swap will run from 9AM-4PM. Sunday's hours are 9AM-2PM. New and
used equipment will be available. Six pro shops will be on hand with
great deals. Food, music and fun door prizes will all be part of this
event, which will be held at Powder Ridge's base lodge.

Olympics kicks off in Connecticut
February 29, 2004 - WTNH, CT - The 21st annual Connecticut Special Olympics
Winter Games kicked off today. It happened at Powder Ridge Ski area in
Middlefield. Events there included alpine skiing and snow boarding.
Other events are also being held at different locations around the
state. More than 700 athletes are competing for a chance to qualify for
the 2005 World Winter Games in Japan.

Ridge ready for a big weekend
January 21, 2004 - WTNH, CT - Things are turning around for ski areas in the
state. After a rough start to the ski season the colder temperatures are
keeping businesses busy. Skiers took to the slopes at Powder Ridge today
for some good midwinter skiing. "Have you been skiing this year
already?" asks Gil Simmons. "No this is our first time this
year." A big change from just weeks ago. "A month ago if we
were doing this interview we'd be knee deep in mud," says Gary
Plaskiewicz.

Ridge Winter Plans
December 05, 2003 - Town Times, CT - "Shred the Gnar!" may sound
painful to some, but snowboard enthusiasts are sure to use this phrase
over the coming winter. Powder Ridge has added a new snowboard park, the
"Gnarly Terrain Park," featuring state of the art snowboard
elements, according to Ken Leavitt, owner. This new park, built in the
tubing area, encompasses the latest and greatest snowboard elements
designed on the west coast, including "rails and boxes,"
elements which have evolved from the skateboard world.

Ridge team seeks skiers, snowboarders for area competitions
October 08, 2003 - Middletown Press, CT - MIDDLEFIELD -- Amateurs just
wanting not to fall down on the slopes, or experienced skiers and
snowboarders raring to test their abilities in area competitions can
sign up now for the Powder Ridge Race Team. Race team Director Ray
Dewitt said the ski and snowboard teams are seeking new members for the
2003-04 season.

October 02, 2003 - Record-Journal, CT - MERIDEN ? Before Conservation
Commission members vote on a proposed sewer line running over the top of
Beseck Mountain, they want to know more from the developer. For example,
they want to know how the Powder Ridge Ski Resort plans to anchor the
proposed 6-inch, concrete-encased pipe to the steep and rocky
mountainside. They want to know how deep it would be buried.

September 29, 2003 - Record-Journal, CT - MERIDEN ? Members of the
Conservation Commission typically enjoy being outside, so holding a
Saturday morning meeting at the top of Powder Ridge made perfect sense.
Not just for the fresh air, but because the commission is now reviewing
plans to run a sewer pipe from the top of the ridge, down the face of
the slope, where it will connect with Mountainside and the Mountain Mist
YMCA Day Camp ? if it is approved by the City Council.

Ridge Announces 2003-04 Programs
September 20, 2003 - Town Times, CT - Powder Ridge is looking forward to its
44th consecutive season. The Farmer's Almanac is calling for a cold and
snowy winter. This year we are hoping to have the pipeline in place from
Lake Beseck which will assure that the ski area has ample water for
snowmaking.
