Frigid temperatures to blast Steamboat this weekend
December 20, 2008 - Skiers and riders should bundle up and brace themselves for frigid weather on the slopes of the Steamboat Ski Area this weekend. Although todays daytime temperatures could get up to 20 degrees, the wind chill from a storm system blowing through the Yampa Valley will keep it feeling between 0 degrees and 5 below zero on the mountain, National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Ramey said.

Ski area reports 12 inches of new snow, announces Friday terrain
December 05, 2008 - With a foot of new snow on the slopes, Steamboat Ski Area officials said 34 trails over 356 acres will be open for skiing and riding Friday, when the gondola and Burgess Creek lifts will open along with Thunderhead Food Court.
