December 15, 2008 - If you are a skier or snowboarder your wish came true today. Powderhorn Ski Resort opened their lifts for the first day of the season. Powderhorn hoped to have opened last Thursday, but didn't have enough snow. In fact-- they didn't decide to open today until about 3 this morning.

December 31, 2007 - A skiing trip for a woman in her 20's turns dangerous Sunday at Powderhorn Ski Resort. The skier collided with a tree, and suffered severe head trauma. The woman was taken from the ski resort at about 10:30a.m. Sunday morning by ambulance to St. Mary's hospital.
