February 28, 2008 - President Franklin Roose velt's Works Project Administration (WPA) built Monarch Mountain's ski infrastructure in 1939. Almost 70 years later, that "New Deal" program has become a "Great Deal" to snowsliders passing along Route 50 on the Continental Divide in south central Colorado.
