May 19, 2008 - ASPEN, Colorado There will be no skiing at Aspen Highlands this Memorial Day weekend, the Aspen Skiing Co. says. Resort officials were pondering how they could offer skiing, since there is an abundance of snow, spokesman Jeff Hanle said.

April 22, 2008 - The busiest day of the ski season at Aspen Highlands was the one that might not have been. With slightly over 3,000 people on the hill, Saturday set the skier day record for all days at Highlands this year, Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle confirmed Monday.

March 21, 2008 - Executives at the Aspen Skiing Co. announced today that they will extend the season at Aspen Highlands through April 27. With over 120 inches in Highland Bowl and almost 100 inches at mid-mountain, the mountain should be in excellent shape through the end of the month of April, officials declared.

March 04, 2006 - It has been almost a year since a fatal avalanche shook the Aspen community. On March 6, 2005, a 150-foot wide, 3,000-foot long slide took the life of a man in the Five Fingers backcountry area, just outside Aspen Highlands ski area - during an avalanche safety class.
