Aspen area snow totals keep rising
December 27, 2008 -  A wind-whipped snowstorm hammered much of western Colorado on Friday, dumping copious loads of powder that inched some ski resorts past their previously recorded totals for December. Over 100 inches have fallen at Aspen Highlands this month, surpassing last years December mark of 98 inches. Highlands, Buttermilk open for 50th time
December 13, 2008 -  When the lifts start spinning today at Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk Mountain, it will mark a half-century of ski area operations at the two mountains. Highlands, Buttermilk open for 50th on Saturday
December 12, 2008 -  Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk Mountain are set to open for their 50th ski seasons tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 13. About 60 percent of Highlands is expected to open for skiing and riding, including a good portion of Highland Bowl: G4 to G8, Full Curl, Ozone, B-1 and White Kitchen. May 19, 2008 - ASPEN, Colorado There will be no skiing at Aspen Highlands this Memorial Day weekend, the Aspen Skiing Co. says. Resort officials were pondering how they could offer skiing, since there is an abundance of snow, spokesman Jeff Hanle said.  read more

March 21, 2008 - Executives at the Aspen Skiing Co. announced today that they will extend the season at Aspen Highlands through April 27.
