Worker pinned by Sno Cat blades
January 10, 2004 - Toronto Star, Canada - BARRIE?Police are calling it a miracle that a 46-year-old man wasn't killed when he was pinned under the giant blades of a snow-grooming machine at Horseshoe Valley Ski resort yesterday morning. Bruce Seymour, a maintenance worker at the resort, suffered severe cuts to his head when the Bombardier Sno Cat lunged forward after he startled the driver by tapping on the window, said OPP Constable Janet Small.  read more

Open space deal may force out families
November 08, 2003 - Summit Daily News, CO - SUMMIT COUNTY - An Open Space plan to buy 1,840 acres in the Golden Horseshoe area from B&B Mines is forcing a number of backcountry cabin dwellers from their abodes and lifestyles. The Breckenridge and Summit County Open Space programs are expected to close on the $9 million-plus purchase by June 2004. Open Space is not supposed to have people living on it in dwellings. Eviction notices have gone out.  read more
