November 24, 2003 - Vancouver Sun, Canada - VERNON -- It was minus 15 degrees
in the alpine at Silver Star Resort, but that didn't stop local
powderhounds from lining up at 8:30 in the morning for fresh tracks on
one of the best opening weekends that skiers and snowboarders can
remember here or at many other mountain operations in B.C. "There
so much snow here," said boarder Andrew Dicknoether, 20, who moved
here from Smithers to be a ski bum. He intends to stay through the
winter.
