November 02, 2004 - SLAM! Sports, Canada - The Fortress
Mountain closure has created a major hurdle for the freestyle ski
community and the Canadian national freestyle team. For decades,
Fortress was the home of freestyle, with permanent aerial and mogul
training sites for every level of competitor. The search is on to find a
new home.

December 16, 2003 - Calgary Sun, Canada - For many years, Fortress Mountain
has been a staple in the ski and snowboarding communities. However,
after a so-so season last year and diminishing numbers at the ticket
windows, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies decided maybe it was time to
close the popular Kananaskis destination for good.

Fortress
contemplating future
November 20, 2003 - CBC Calgary, Canada - Calgary - Rising insurance and
energy costs are threatening the future of Fortress Mountain, its owner
says. The ski hill, owned by Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, receives
fewer than 200,000 visitors a year, and most are from Alberta. The
company says it needs the provincial government to help improve the
bottom line, in order to keep the hill running.
